The 7th International Music Workshop and Festival Schloss Kirchberg, Germany(August 9-22, 2010)

Workshop 2008 was one of the most magical musical experiences of my life. The combination of a world-class faculty, intense lesson schedule, friendly atmosphere, and wonderful, talented colleagues made for the perfect summer music program. I have never heard of a workshop that offers such a generous schedule of instruction. Professor Hashimoto is the ideal teacher--unflaggingly demanding yet encouraging, serious yet whimsical, utterly brilliant yet down-to-earth. She is a true inspiration. " - Dory Hayley

"This is the perfect workshop for the real hardcore chamber musicians - a unique opportunity to collaborate with high calibre musicians from around the world!" - Tomoko Inui

"The Workshop was one the most rewarding musical experiences of my life - intense coaching, rehearsing and practicing plus good opportunities to play, all in a friendly atmosphere. Precious advice from Ms. Hashimoto and the other professors made me progress greatly and broadened my musical understanding."- Ricardo Sa Leao

These are the words from former participants describing the International Music Workshop and Festival. It is unique, very rewarding and enjoyable summer festival. This year will be the 7th Edition and it has established very nice community of musicians from all over the world. The Workshop has provided rare opportunities for intense music (especially chamber music) making.

This year's International Music Workshop will take place at the beautiful castle, Schloss Kirchberg (an der Jagst) in South Germany between August 9 and 22, 2010. This workshop is a rather intimate course with a spontaneous and family-like atmosphere, open to advanced musicians (both instrumentalists and singers). Participants will have lots of lessons and coaching from all the professors, and will have an opportunity to work on both chamber music and solo repertoire. There will be concerts in the castle and in neighbouring towns and all the participants will be given opportunities to perform in public concerts. Professors will be Kyoko Hashimoto (Piano, McGill University) as well as Rafael Rosenfeld. (distinguished cellist and professor at Basel Academy)

Tuition will be 673 Euro per person. Accommodation in a shared room with 3 meals will be 29 Euro per person per night. There are several scholarships will be granted to the most outstanding performers. The selected participants will also be offered a tour of performances in south Germany in the coming season.
